Our father-child retreat in April 2025 gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that. Just you and your child (ages 8 and up), away from everyday life, into the pure nature of Portugal's west coast. No stress, no distractions - just adventure, quality time and real connection.

In a small group of just 4 fathers with their children, you will experience unforgettable days full of waves. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer - there are no limits here. Surf sessions, campfire evenings and lots of laughter.
It's not just about surfing - it's about celebrating life together, learning and strengthening your connection.

Why I am doing this retreat: Time that remains

I'm Costa, and I want to tell you why I started this father-child retreat. At the surf retreats here, I always feel how powerful it is when men come together. An energy is created that touches you deeply and shows you what really counts. It's these moments that change everything and have a lasting effect on everyday life. The feedback is always amazing: inner peace, new flow, real growth.

I am the son of Greek guest workers. My father worked hard all his life, did night shifts, gave everything for us. But if I could wish for one thing, it would be to have more time with him - as a young man. I miss that time, and now that I am a father myself, I realize how incredibly important it is. Fathers are anchors, guidance and inspiration for their children.

There are only a few moments in life where men have space for themselves - for their strength, but also their vulnerability. This is exactly the space I want to create. That's why this retreat is limited to 4 fathers with their children. It's about time - real time together. Boarding, whether on the water or on the balance board, is the way for me to strengthen this connection. Because it does something to you. It brings you into the here and now. It teaches you trust and balance, not just on the board, but also in life.

I'm looking forward to walking this path with you. It will be intense, it will be powerful - and it will be unforgettable.

This retreat is more than a week - it is an investment in what will strengthen you forever.

From airport pickup to the last wave - we take care of everything. You live in a dream house by the sea, enjoy healthy, freshly prepared organic meals and experience a week full of surfing, costa boarding and unforgettable moments. No planning, no organizing - just pure, undisturbed time for you.

Surfing with Costa

No matter whether you are both standing on a surfboard for the first time or already have experience - we will meet you exactly where you are. We will paddle out together, practice in white water or try our hand at green waves. With individual coaching from me and experienced surf coaches , you will learn to gain confidence in the water, let go and surf with more flow.

But the coaching doesn't end in the sea: With the Costaboard we train balance on land, improve our mobility and our mindset. And after the sessions? There's time for real conversations - whether over pizza evening or relaxing by the campfire.

The program

Daily surf sessions with Costa

No two days are the same here. We start every morning with the waves , and whether you are a beginner or an advanced surfer - you and your child will go into the water together. I, Costa, and our team of experienced surf coaches will accompany you during every session and show you how to find your flow on the board.

But it's about more than technique. It's about gaining trust, letting go and feeling the power of the water. You won't just ride waves, you'll also learn to work with the ocean - and at the end of the day you'll go home with a new connection: to nature, to the water and to each other.

Finding balance with the Costaboard

In addition to surfing , balance is the heart of this retreat. Every day we train with the Costaboard to improve our balance - physically and mentally. The exercises not only strengthen your balance, but also your confidence in your abilities - on the water and in everyday life.

There is no competition here, just the opportunity to grow together, try new tricks and, above all, have fun.

Everything you need – completely organized

From the pick-up at the airport to the last wave, everything is organized for you - including the return transfer. You will stay in a high-quality, dream house by the sea , in comfortable double rooms with private bathrooms .

Lucas , our experienced chef, will provide you with energy with regional organic food that will make you feel strong and well all day long. Surfing, balance training, shared experiences - everything is planned, you don't have to worry about anything. Your only task? Enjoy the time with your child.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

  • THE HOUSE

    Just a few minutes' walk from Monte Clérigo and Amoreira , our spacious, high-quality house offers plenty of space, several terraces and wide outdoor areas.

    Everything is included, from breakfast to dinner - Lucas conjures up first-class regional organic meals every day in the open kitchen. Perfect for ending the day together. Arrifana (5 mins.) and Aljezur (10 mins.) are quickly accessible.

  • SHARED ADVENTURE EVENINGS

    After an exciting day full of surfing and action, there is nothing better than spending the evening with your son. Whether it is exciting conversations or a little game - this time belongs only to you. Together you create memories that will last.

  • ROOM SELECTION

    Father and child share a great room that is perfectly tailored to your stay. All rooms have double beds with private bathrooms. In any case, the rooms offer plenty of space to rest and relax so that you are ready for the next day of adventure.

  • Flexibility in case of changes of plans: Changes possible up to 6 weeks before the retreat, with a refund minus a processing fee of 100 euros.
  • No refunds for changes made later than 6 weeks before the retreat.

  • Taking out travel insurance is strongly recommended (costs approx. 30-60 euros).
